April 2026 School Council Meeting with Guest Speaker Jonathon Bloomfield

April 2026 School Council Meeting with Guest Speaker Jonathon Bloomfield

We’re excited to welcome a special guest speaker on AI to our April School Council meeting! We worked hard to bring Jonathon Bloomfield to our community and have also been given approval for students to attend, which we felt was important given the relevance of this topic. We hope to see you there!

Help shape the conversation by completing the speaker’s short survey.

  • Topic: AI in High School: Understanding the Technology and How to Use it Wisely
  • Speaker: Jonathon Bloomfield, Founder and CEO of Edventive
  • Date & Time: Monday, April 27, 7:00 – 8:00 pm
  • Location: Hybrid (NTCI and GoogleMeet)   https://meet.google.com/iaz-vcbb-idu

Join Educator turned Entrepreneur, Jonathon Bloomfield, for a discussion on AI literacy.  Jonathon will move beyond the hype to discuss how students are actually using AI tools, how to keep them safe, and how to foster academic integrity.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Current Capabilities: A look at the ecosystem beyond ChatGPT, including tools for research, coding, and creative arts.
  • Academic Integrity: How to ensure students use AI to amplify thinking rather than replace it.
  • Constructive Use: Practical examples of using AI for academic support.
  • Risk Mitigation: Understanding data privacy, “hallucinations,” and the importance of protecting personal information.

We look forward to seeing you April 27!

Donations to NTCI School Council; Next Meeting – Oct 28th at 7PM in Rm 215

Thank you to all the community members who attended the School Council meeting on September 30. The School Council will meet again at NTCI on Monday, October 28 at 7pm in Room 215.

Donations to NTCI School Council

The NTCI School Council is committed to supporting the mission of our school by collaborating with students, staff, families. One of the ways we do that is by raising funds to support school initiatives that enhance student learning opportunities both inside and outside the classroom (and that are not supported by student fees). Each year, through the generous contributions of our community, the School Council provides vital funding for programs and initiatives that enrich student experiences, including:

  • Field trips and competitions (e.g., Music Nationals and sports tournaments)
  • Committees and clubs (e.g., Prom Committee)
  • Student publications (e.g., Graffiti)
  • Graduation ceremony
  • Speakers and events to support students and parents

Your donations enable us to continue supporting these valuable opportunities, helping to foster a vibrant and inclusive school environment. Every contribution, no matter the size, has a direct impact on the student experience. Additionally, all donations are eligible for a tax receipt.

To make a donation, please visit here: https://tdsb.schoolcashonline.com/Fee/Details/457/153/false/true?school=629&initiative=29

Every gift makes a difference!

Thank you for your time. We look forward to enhancing school and community resources.
