On February 26, 2026, the North Toronto Varsity Boys Hockey team claimed the TDSSAA Tier 2 Championship at North Toronto Arena 11-1 over Harbord Collegiate.
The Norsemen got off to an early lead when Alternate Captain Connor Schneeweiss ripped a shot high glove side after a pass from Declan Shred less than four minutes into the opening period. With under five minutes to play in the first, Captain Martin Clarke streaked by the Harbord defense and deked the goalie to put the Norsemen up 2-0. Just over two minutes later Costa Alexopoulos put the Norsemen up by three and then, only 31 seconds later, Campbell Calder netted his first of two on an assist by Liam Cuddy.
Just over three minutes into the second period, the Norsemen stretched their lead to 5-0 on a goal by Matthew Mah, with assists from Costa Alexopoulos and Lukas Sabarwal. The lead grew to six when Lukas Sabarwal netted his own just 15 seconds later. Clarke, Cuddy, and Tate Bristol would add to the Norsemen lead, before Daniel Xie in the third, and Campbell Calder with his second, rounded out the scoring for the Norsemen.
In net, Rory Covert got the start and was rock solid for the first two periods while Gabe De Camargo relieved him in the third to guide the Norsemen to victory.
This was North Toronto’s first hockey championship since 2015.
