This month, our Grade 11 Drama students enjoyed an enriching visit to Tarragon Theatre that brought their classroom learning to life. The day began with a behind the scenes tour of the theatre, followed by a hands on directing workshop led by NT alum Rahaf Faseh, where students explored the creative decision making involved in staging a production.

Students then attended the world premiere of Mischief, a heartwarming comedy by acclaimed Mi’kmaw artist Lisa Nasson that examines ancestry, justice, and the strength of community. The production, a co-presentation by Tarragon Theatre, Native Earth Performing Arts, and Neptune Theatre, was directed by Mike Payette, and featured Joelle Peters.

After the performance, students participated in a talk-back session with members of the cast, asking thoughtful questions and gaining valuable insight into the professional rehearsal and performance process.
