Keanu Reeves on growing up in Toronto, getting kicked out of high school and being asked to change his ‘ethnic’ name
Growing up, he was an avid Maple Leafs fan and himself a goalie. “I played a lot of ice hockey as a kid,” Reeves said with a chuckle, adding that he even continued to play pickup hockey “basically every day” after moving to Los Angeles.
In Toronto, he attended Jesse Ketchum Junior and Senior Public School before attending four high schools, including North Toronto Collegiate Institute and De La Salle College.

Passing of AMY ELIZABETH "BETTY" ROWE, an NT alumnus
With family present, Betty passed away peacefully, at 102 years of age on March 9, 2023, at Hillsdale Estates in Oshawa. She was always very athletic, starting out as a track star at North Toronto Collegiate Institute. Then, it was competitive tennis followed by badminton. Later, she took up golf and curling. These summer and winter sports became her passions, and she was often a winner. She played at Thornhill Golf and Country Club and continued golfing even into her nineties! Another passion for her was bridge; she made many friends playing and she continued to enjoy the game after she left North Toronto and moved to Port Perry, where she played into her 101st year… [Continue Reading]

Born in Toronto on June 28, 1947, Ron attended John Fisher Public School, North Toronto Collegiate Institute, and the University of Toronto, before embarking on a long and successful career in the investment industry. His intelligence was matched only by his charm.
