Alana Robert is a human rights activist, lawyer and member of the Indigenous community, who will be speaking about her McCarthy Tetrault’s team’s successful class action lawsuit fighting for cleaner drinking water for Indigenous communities in Canada and for compensation for individuals enduring exposure to unclean water.

This lawsuit, the first of its kind heard together by the federal & Manitoba courts won Indigenous persons an 8 billion dollar settlement from the federal government promising much needed improvement of water infrastructure in certain communities as well as compensation fir some who have endured decades of inadequate water management in reserves through Canada.
